The community
The Svenska App community, on WhatsApp
A place to ask what a letter means, to say the sentence you could not say at the counter, and to find somebody to practise with. It runs itself: no teacher, no timetable, no lesson to attend.
The groups
English-speaking group
The group for English speakers learning Swedish. Write here in English or in Swedish.
Groupe francophone
The group for French speakers learning Swedish. Write here in French or in Swedish.
Svenska only
Swedish and nothing else, for everyone who can already write a simple sentence. Not the beginners' group, and the two above are there for that.
Ideas, bugs & questions
About the app itself: something broken, something wrong, something missing. Everything here is read.
Announcements
What is new in the course. Rarely, and only from the admin.
How it works
- Four groups, and you pick the ones you want. Nobody is added anywhere without choosing it.
- Anyone can post a Google Meet link when they are free. Whoever is available joins, for fifteen minutes or an hour.
- The announcements channel is the only one where a single person writes, and it is used rarely.
The rules, all of them
- 1.Swedish gets written in Swedish, however badly. Ask in whichever language you like, but try the Swedish sentence first.
- 2.We correct sentences, never people.
- 3.No ads, no affiliate links, no recruiting.
- 4.No legal or immigration advice. For your own case, that is Migrationsverket.
- 5.Anyone may post a Google Meet link when they are free. Whoever is available joins, and nobody owes an explanation for not coming.
What other people can see
Inside a group you join, the other members of that group see your phone number, as in any WhatsApp group. In the announcements channel they do not: there, your number is visible only to the admins.
