The short answer
The essential Swedish home words are rum, kök, badrum, sovrum and vardagsrum. Connect each piece of furniture to its room and a concrete verb: bordet står i köket, lampan hänger i taket, nycklarna ligger på hyllan. This teaches vocabulary and prepositions together.
Start with rooms
Learn ett rum, ett kök, ett badrum, ett sovrum, ett vardagsrum, en hall, en balkong. Keep the article with the noun so you do not have to learn its gender twice.
Then describe what you wear or put away with Swedish clothes vocabulary.

Furniture, position and preposition
Add ett bord, en stol, en säng, en soffa, en hylla, en garderob, en lampa. Use står for many upright objects, ligger for things lying down and hänger for things that hang.

Describe a home or a fault
For a viewing, prepare ljus, mörk, rymlig, trång, möblerad. For a problem: kranen läcker, elementet fungerar inte, lampan är trasig.
